Tidbits

Have I told you how amazing our friends, Ron & Lora are? Well, I'm going to say it again, they are HUGE blessings in our lives. The more time we spend with them, the more we love them. They visited their girls at Maison for the first time last week. They were so gracious to take loads of pictures and video of our kids. Last night we got together at Panera and talked about their trip. It's an amazing journey we are on. God has put these 2 families together and I just can't wait to see our lives unfold!

LOVED this!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can see a bit how Lydie and Samson are starting to orbit around one another. Love you.

were they looking at pictures of you on the camera? lydie sure had a BIG smile!
i can't say it enough, your kids are SUPER cute (& i'm not just saying that either). yearning for you to hold them SOON!!!

4/11/11--Birth parent interviews at the US Embassy in Haiti.

3/16/11--US Embassy to file I-600 (immigration paperwork)

Met Samson's birth mom

3/15/11--Met Lydie's birth mom

3/14/11-Appeared at Haitian court

3/13/11-3/18/11--First trip to Haiti to meet Lydie and Samson

2/9/11-Stephen's immunizations (Hepatitis A and typhoid, prescription for malaria.)

2/8/11--Naomi's immunizations (Hepatitis A, tetanus and typhoid) Prescription for malaria

2/3/2011--Dossier submitted to IBESR!!! (file #'s 19261 & 19262)

12/9/2010--Received our I-171H immigration approval to adopt from Haiti

12/7/2010-Received delivery confirmation Dossier in Haiti

12/3/2010--Dossier is sent to Haiti

11/29/2010--Traveled to Des Moines to get fingerprinted for immigration

11/18/2010--Dossier is sent to Haitian consulate (in USA) for legalization (translation into French)

10/29/2010--Accepted referrals of Lydie & Samson!!!

10/22/2010--Received referrals on Lydie and Samson from Maison orphanage

10/19/2010--Submitted I-600A to Dept. of Homeland Security (immigration dept.)

9/23/2010--Certified Dossier submitted to CCAI

8/30/2010-Home study complete!

7/21/2010--Started our home study

7/2010--Started our paperchase-letter to Haitian consulate, collected birth certificates, letters from our employers, certified letters from our bank and county sheriff stating we were in good standing, physical and psychiatric evaluations, HIV tests, limited power of attorney to Haitian lawyer, 2 letters of reference, tax returns for 3 years, bank statements for 3 months, fingerprints for FBI. (all documents had to be notarized and certified)

7/2010--Transferred our application to adopt from Haiti

5/2010--Filed application with CCAI to adopt from China

3/4/2010--Ran into family in Branson, MO who led us to adoption agency--CCAI (Chinese Children Adoption International)

2/27/2010--God moved our hearts to adopt a child(ren)

1/12/2010--Devastating 7.0 earthquake hits Haiti
